This popular dog Christmas treat recipe makes grain-free doughnut holes boosted with healing herbs. Great for dogs with common conditions like allergies, itchy skin, arthritis, digestive problems, poor dentition, anxiety, food sensitivities and cancer. 2cupsOrganic Unsweetened Apple Sauce (or organic pumpkin puree)
5 Duck Eggs (or 6 chicken eggs)
3tbspGround Flaxseeds
3tbspDried Organic Lavender Flowers(grind up larger pieces)
1tspSpirulina Powder(may substitute with powdered greens)
1Egg White (Duck or Chicken), set aside(Don’t waste the healthy yolk - your dog will love this over his food!)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 °F
Line cookie sheet with wax paper
Mix together coconut flour, peanut butter, apple sauce (or pumpkin puree) and eggs
Roll dough into balls
Dip balls into egg white and roll into your herbs of choice. Hint: If using spirulina, we like to mix ground flaxseeds in with the spirulina to dilute the intense color and make a lightly colored green “Grinch” bit
Place balls on wax paper ⅛” apart
Bake 15-20 minutes (time depends on the size of the doughnut holes)
Allow to cool and watch your dog drool!
